Rose's Journey follows the personal story of Rose Nanyonga Clarke. Rose was raised to be a witch doctor in a rural Ugandan village. Part of her training involved listening to spirits. One day she heard the Spirit of God speak to her about the Christian faith. Rose followed this new faith, was disowned by her family and sent away from her village alone. Her life since then has involved adoption by an Irish missionary couple, medical training in the US, leading health care efforts in Uganda, and now pursuing a PhD at Yale. It's an amazing life story.
The event in DFW is free and has two parts. Friday October 5th there will be a dinner where Rose will be sharing her story. Saturday October 6th there will be a walk in Irving to commemorate the 52 kilometer walk Rose took from her village. Both events will help raise awareness about causes such as child sacrifice.
