Since 2007, Camp Craig Allen has worked tirelessly to raise money and awareness to
serve the physically disabled community. Eventually, Camp Craig Allen will build a state of the art, entirely barrier free facility in Frisco, Tx , however for now, they lease a facility.
“We serve all levels of physical disabilities and all ages. Although Camp Craig Allen is
operating at a small (but important) level now, one day it will be an entire community
of its own.” states founding Executive Board Member, Amanda Hall. “It takes so much
money to build a facility of this magnitude. I look forward to the day we have the resources, and can really make a huge impact on so many more deserving families.”
At this leased camp facility, we modified programs, adapted the environment to the best of our ability, and we go to camp. From fishing, power wheelchair hockey, swimming, arts & crafts,
spa corner, and even nightly campfire rings, we do it! Right now, we hold specially adapted
programs designed around the levels of disabilities (and abilities), of which renew the spirits in campers as well as the volunteers. From this, we know the years of hard work and dedication in fundraising haven’t been in vain. There is no charge to attend our camp weekend programs.
While Camp Craig Allen has come so far in our journey, we still have a long way to go to fully
reach our vision.
