Chabad of Plano presents “An Evening with Dennis Prager: Why The World Needs American Values” at the Collin College Conference Center, Spring Creek Campus, 2800 East Spring Creek Parkway, Plano on Wednesday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. Senator Florence Shapiro, a first generation American and daughter of two Holocaust survivors, will be honored with the Distinguished Leadership Award for her 35 years of public service to the City of Plano and the State of Texas. In special recognition of Senator Shapiro’s extraordinary dedication and level of service, Chabad is renaming this award in perpetuity to be called The Florence Shapiro Distinguished Leadership Award. “This will be an amazing evening with Dennis Prager , a man often called ‘America’s Moral Compass,’ sharing his thoughtful, honest approach toward politics, society, religion and life in America,” said Rabbi Menachem Block, Chabad of Plano. “He is known for standing-room only crowds at his speaking engagements which span 100 countries and all 50 states. Additionally we are so very pleased to honor such an amazing friend and individual, Florence Shapiro, and to rename our Distinguished Leadership Award in her honor. Without question, her love and loyalty to public service will be remembered each time we present the award.” Dennis Prager’s nationally syndicated show airs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. daily on 660 AM The Answer. Named “one of America’s five best speakers” by Toastmasters and widely sought after by television shows for his opinions, Prager has appeared on “Larry King Live,” “Hardball,” “Hannity & Colmes,” “CBS Evening News,” “ The Today Show,” and many more. “His appearance in Plano is the first since he published his current New York Times bestseller, “Still The Best Hope: Why the World Needs American Values to Triumph,” added Rabbi Block. “Prager will make his case for American values to an audience comprised of multi faiths, from Orthodox Jews to conservative Christians and detail why this can only happen in America. All faiths are invited to share in this very special evening!” Ticket prices are as follows: General Admission: $35 in advance, $45 at the door (space available); $20 in advance or $25 for students at the door; or $75 for General Admission and a post-lecture dessert reception with Dennis Prager (advance sales only). Tickets can be purchased through www.myeasytix.com, or by calling their toll free number at (866) 726-3581. “An Evening with Dennis Prager” is presented by Chabad of Plano/Collin County and News Talk 660 KSKY and proceeds will benefit Chabad of Plano/Collin County, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing educational and social programs for families and children across Collin County.
